Keep it simple by ordering this wood slat pack. It contains all the essential components for assembling your bioclimatic pergola or louver. It can be installed on either a wood or aluminum frame. One pack covers an area of 1 m² and is compatible with both motorized and manual ( crank-operated) opening mechanisms.
📦 Pack contents:
– 10 Ayous wood slats, 20x97x1000 mm, with high-temperature treatment (THT) to limit wood expansion
– 2 gray SAM kits, 487 mm, for 20 mm slats
– 16 steel screws, with screw heads matching the color of the mechanism
– 4 gray locking latches
🛠️ Assembly instructions:
It is recommended to drill pilot holes in metal structures before installing the kits to prevent the screws from breaking.
Allow for 2 mm of expansion clearance at each end of the plank (4 mm total) before inserting it into the supports. Caution: Do not leave more than 4 mm of clearance between the supports, as the plank could fall out.
If you do not want the slats to be cut, leave a space of 1034 mm between the beams—that is, 1000 mm for the length of the slat, 30 mm for the thickness of the kit (15 mm on each side), and 4 mm for operational clearance (2 mm on each side).
Tip if you need to cut the planks to size: To determine their length, measure the distance between your joists and subtract 34 mm (15 mm for the thickness of the kit and 2 mm of expansion gap for the plank on each side). Example: distance between joists = 800 mm, so the length of your planks = 800 - 34 = 766 mm
⛈️ Weather protection:
The wooden slats overlap and are designed to provide shade. They do not form a waterproof covering and are not intended to make the structure watertight.
Caution: Be sure to open the slats in case of strong winds or snow.
